Hello all! Just recent purchased a used 2018 jk unlimited sport. It's has 98000 miles on it. I'm new new to the jeep community. Long story short the radiator fan is excessively loud and the jeep is over heating, I drove it about an hour and a half from the place I bought it from and now I can't even make it down the street. My 2007 Jeep JK with 204,000 miles won't start when hot. Cold starting is fine. After the Jeep runs to full temperature, is turned off and then sits for 30 minutes, it will crank but will not start. I’ve had it tested by 2 different mechanic shops for the head gasket issue and both said it’s fine. I’ve changed everything. If, as you said, it was only the drivers side, then replacing the core didn't do a thing and the issue will likely return. The jeep isn't running hot at all. The temp needle never gets past half or even up to half way. When I start the jeep the fan is not on.The trans stays cooler keeps the trans around 120-160°F normally, and around 180°F with A/C going. It still heat soaks from the A/C, but it takes much longer to do so. yeah, the middle is a bit high for the 3.6L especially if you are driving. But like you, normal temps for my 3.6 is just slightly above the 1/4 line. The only time when I see the temp gauge move is up to slightly below the 1/2 mark, and that us when im driving in a parking lot for like 20 minutes at low speed.
